BetWomen

BetWomen

BetWomen is a group of women from Bethlehem who sew and embroider household products. The group was founded during the pandemic when Pro Terra Sancta Association launched the production of free masks for people in need. Such initiative aimed also to provide professional opportunities for women. Bethlehem’s economy relies on tourism and many men lost their jobs during the pandemic forcing women to support their families. The BetWomen group received training not only in sewing and embroidery but also in design and management. The group is specialized in using woven traditional Bedouin fabric and to transforming it into modern and elegant household products.
